Frequently Asked Questions
1 / How should I prepare for my first treatment?
Be ready to let go of the weight of your body and the need to support your own movements. During the massage you can let yourself rest on the table and I will support any movement needed.
For a Therapeutic or Prenatal massage :
Traditionally these massages are done with oil on the skin and therefore the client is undressed to their level of comfort (underwear can remain on) and covered by a blanket. I will only uncover your limbs and back as I am working on them.
For Trager :
This method does not include the use of oils or creams. For this session, please wear comfortable clothing that you can move around freely in. You will still be laying on the table, but will remain clothed.
2 / What should I expect from my first session?
You can expect to feel calmer and move more freely after the session. Be sure to drink lots of water to help your system flush out any toxins and recover. Occasionally, people have had headaches or felt tired after a session, but this is typically not something you need to worry about.
3 / Do you help treat terminal or chronic illness?
As I am working from a specific location, I am less likely to see terminally ill clients. I am not certified to work with certain diseases, such as cancer. However, depending on the nature of the illnesses it may be possible for me to work with the client.
In regards to Chronic illnesses, I do very much work with these on a regular basis. It, again, depends on the nature and severity of the disease. We can discuss different precautions needed, such as masking.
Please speak with your doctor to be cleared for massage if you have any chronic or terminal diseases before scheduling a massage. This is the safest way to know that there are no reasons as to why we should not move forward with the massage.
